James Corden

James Corden

James Corden was banned from singing in 'One Chance'.

The British star portrays mobile phone salesman-turned-opera singer Paul Potts - who shot to fame after winning the first series of 'Britain's Got Talent' - in the movie, and had his musical parts dubbed in after singing lessons failed to improve his voice.

He said: "At first I thought, I really think I can do this. And I had six or seven lessons and then some people came to listen and they went, 'Hmmm...'"

James is starting to make his way to Hollywood and can next be seen in 'Into the Woods' alongside Meryl Streep and Johnny Depp and he admits to being in awe of his castmates.

He told OK! magazine: "Let's not mess around, it's working with Meryl Streep, there's no getting away from it. Playing this part is almost too much for me to take in. You're trying to hold it together and be very cool but it's a big cast.

"I haven't filmed with Johnny yet, but I saw him in the studio and then I shoot with him very soon - I'm really looking forward to it."
