Jeffrey Dean Morgan has kept quite quiet about his role as Negan on The Walking Dead ahead of the seventh season premiere this October, but he's now opened up a little bit about what viewers and fans can expect when the show returns.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly after gracing their new cover, he explained: "It's a rest on The Walking Dead world. It's f**king Negan's world now.

"What you're going to see in the first half of this season is Negan wreaking havoc. And some of your characters that you've grown to love are not going to be on the show anymore, and it's going to end badly for them. It's going to be a whole new beginning for The Walking Dead.

"Really, we've taken the show and just flipped it upside down. It's a different show now. It's going to have a different feeling. You're going to see your favourite characters in a position that they've never been in before, which is super vulnerable and victimised."

Though we all knew that one character would meet their end as soon as the show returns, the fact Morgan hints at more than one character not being on the show anymore is very interesting.

There has been rumours that the series may deviate slightly from the comics with the scene that left season 6 on a huge cliffhanger, with many wondering whether Negan would not only take the life of one member of Rick's group, but two.

This wouldn't come completely out of left field, with creator Robert Kirkman and showrunner Scott Gimple changing things from the way they've been in the comics before.

Fans can find out what Morgan's talking about when The Walking Dead returns to AMC in the US on October 23 and FOX in the UK on October 24.
