The 55-year-old presenter was seen meeting with the 36-year-old beauty - who is tipped to replace him on 'Top Gear' - in a London pub yesterday (28.04.15), where they spent hours chatting, and as a result betting on her landing the job on the motoring show has now escalated.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Clarkson walked to the pub, taking the back roads to try to shake off photographers.

"But he failed to lose them and he and Jodie sat outside in full view. They looked like they got on like a house on fire."

Jodie currently co-hosts 'Classic Car Show' on Channel Five and admitted at the weekend she is keen to join 'Top Gear'.

Asked whether she wants the job she said: "Why not? Yes! I'm sure we can get two people to sign a petition."

Meanwhile, Jeremy - who was fired from the show following a fracas with a producer in a row over catering - and his former co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May, as well as their executive producer Andy Wilman, could be set to sign a deal with Disney.

The US broadcaster - which part-owns the History channel - is keen to sign the trio up for a new motoring show, but they face competition from streaming service Netflix.

However, it is believed at least one of the trio had a 12-month non-compete clause in their BBC contract, meaning any new show could be at least a year away.
