Jim Rosenthal hopes he can get a role as a wrestler in Plebs.

The sports presenter makes his debut in the sitcom as a chariot racing commentator next week but has been outed by his son, who insists his father won't stop asking producers Sam Leifer and Tom Basden for bigger parts.

Speaking at the Plebs lanch, Tom Rosenthal told BANG Showbiz: "He has not stopped bothering me. Every sentence begins with, 'Have you got me a part in Plebs yet?' And he still wants more. He's not happy with this. Any kind of sport, any wrestling scene.

"Honestly, after he's a had a few drinks, he will just go up and talk to Sam and Tom and just start talking about how he can get back on the show."

Tom does admit that his father would fit in however, as he's such a practical joker.

"My mum hates me telling this story. I've got a really strong story of dad, we were on holiday and he was naked, and he came up to my face and he farted in it.

"And I, being a bit of ham, really acted it up. Like went to the toilet and pretended to be sick."

Plebs returns to ITV, Monday September 22 at 10pm.
