Jonathan Ross is to join Gok Wan and Abbey Clancey in a Great British Bake Off celebrity special.

The three stars have been filming the charity show in Essex at Valentines Mansion, and Jonathan is reported to be on top form, cracking out euphemistic one-liners in the tent.

The Daily Mirror was told by a show insider: "The celebrity special is going to be absolutely hilarious. Jonathan was being a real joker on set. He came out with some tasty double entendres that would make even Mel and Sue blush.

"Unfortunately his baking didn't quite make the same impact."

Whilst Jonathan may have been focusing on gags over baking, Abbey has her eyes on the prize and is determined to win.

Allegedly she told the crew: "I'm here to win it with my dumplings and cheese straws."

Her efforts haven't gone unnoticed, as both Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry are pleasantly surprised by her talents.

The insider explained: "Abbey was having a whale of a time. She impressed the judges with her cooking and had a real skill with the dough."

Sadly for 40-year-old Gok his dish fell flat, with judge Paul commenting that it had "more style than substance".

The special episode airs in the New Year.
