The 57-year-old TV presenter encountered the pussy problem after one of his four felines pierced his skin in a desperate attempt to stop themselves from falling over.

Speaking on BBC Radio 2 while sitting in for regular presenter Steve Wright, he said: "I currently have a really bad scratch on my chest.

"I have four cats and one of them was sitting on me and started to fall off and to save itself it tried to grab on to me and scratched me all the way down through my pyjamas.

"Big scrapes all down me. I love her dearly so it's not an issue but it was a bit of a surprise.

"So I'm dealing with that at the moment."

Jonathan is not the only TV star who has had an issue with one of his mischievous moggies of late.

Last year, Holly Willoughby was forced to enlist the help of a pet therapist due to her leaky pussy, Teddy, who kept urinating on her sofa rather than do his business in his litter tray.

She said: "He's got a problem. The kids were like, 'Mummy you're going to tell everyone that he pees on the sofa.'

"My cats are brother and sister, but he's a monster compared to her, they're the same age but he's so much bigger than her. She's great. Ted's fine.

"They're as good as gold, they're so social. I have never had cats who are so calm as kittens but he just, as soon as he can get up on that sofa, he's up there and pees everywhere."

This came after Brian May's wife Anita Dobson revealed their garden had been invaded with stray cats, but the Queen rocker later insisted that was a non-issue.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "All the animals we rescue and find generally go back into the wild. We don't keep them."
