Based near Chicago, Illinois, Kathleen Zellner is an American lawyer who has been hired in an attempt to gain the exoneration of Steven Avery - the subject of critically acclaimed 10-part Netflix documentary Making A Murderer.

In the past, Zellner has gained the exoneration and release of 17 men in wrongful conviction cases, and she's hoping to add to that number with Avery.

She could now be one step closer to gaining that exoneration, after taking to her Twitter account to promise a 'tsunami of new evidence', tweeting:

Zellner had in May previously stated that 'Rome wasn't built in a day', claiming that there were 495 days to 'frame' Avery.

On May 30 she wrote:

Whether or not we'll ever see Steven Avery free is anybody's guess, but one thing is for sure - Zellner isn't going to give up on him without a fight.

Making A Murderer is available on Netflix in all territories where the streaming service is available.
