The 'Coronation Street' actress was forced to miss the National Television Awards in London last week because she wasn't feeling very well and, although the doctors are sure her lightheadedness is due to an ear infection, she's still got to have some tests.

Speaking to OK! magazine, she said: "I was meant to go down to London for the awards but I was still poorly. Thankfully I'm feeling a bit better now.

"My doctor does think the dizzy spells I've been suffering from are down to labyrinthitis, but I'm having some further tests next week too, just to be sure."

The 41-year-old star is no doubt hoping to be better by next month as the anniversary of her son Archie's death is fast approaching and she's planning to remember him at Archie's Footprint Ball, held at the Hilton in Manchester on February 10.

The evening will see a number of star-studded guests take to the stage to raise money for bereaved parents and families who have lost their children.

Kym explained: "There will be happy tears too as we're doing something very special by raising awareness and money in his memory and I feel very proud of us as a family."

The brunette beauty was left devastated almost nine years ago when he son Archie, whom she had with her then-husband Jamie Lomas, was born prematurely at 21 weeks and five days and sadly died just seconds after his delivery.

Kym said: "When Archie died, he was allowed to stay in the ward with me overnight. The next morning my dad carried him down to the vehicle where the funeral directors were waiting and put him into his coffin, so dad was the last person to hold Archie."
