Lena Headey saw some of the first moments of Game of Thrones season 6 this past weekend, and took to Twitter to tease fans about what's coming up when the series returns in April.

Headey then pretended she was going to give away some exciting new information:

An official trailer for the season giving glimpses of new footage has not yet been given and is expected before the new episodes.

However, this is the first time in the show's history that HBO will not be sending out media screeners prior to the season's debut, so it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility if the network wanted to play their cards as close to their chest as possible.

This is also going to be the first time book readers won't know what's coming up in the show, as the series now eclipses everything that they've read in the novels.

George R R Martin apologised to fans after missing his deadline for the next instalment of his novel series, stating that it would not be released prior to the airing of the television series' new season.

Game of Thrones returns April 24 on HBO in the US and will be simulcast April 25 on Sky Atlantic in the UK.
