ITV2 has confirmed the romantic reality TV show, which is filmed in a villa abroad, will be back with a bang in less than two weeks' time as a new selection of contestants jet out to the sunshine in the hope of finding love and bagging the £50,000 prize money.

The show's return date comes just a few days after it was reported that bosses had flown a group of hopefuls out to the love shack for a five-day trial.

A source said: "The trial will be seriously debauched. The contestants know misbehaving is the way to get on the show - but that leads to all sorts. Last year contestants romped on TV and producers were forced to provide the villa with extra condoms. This year's crop of hopefuls will have a lot to live up to."

The line-up is being kept under wraps for now while bosses make their final decision but Lisa Appleton's daughter Sophia has claimed she's now out of the running.

The 27-year-old star claimed that she's pulled out of the reality TV show because she's now found someone who she hopes will eventually become her boyfriend.

Taking to her Facebook account, she wrote in a since-deleted post:

"Well as you all know, I could of been on Love Island this year, everyone keeps asking me what's going on... so I'm putting it out there... it was a hard choice to make, but due to a potential relationship in my life I decided to turn it down a few weeks ago.

However I wish all the best for the luck people that get to compete, find love and win the show, £50,000 and in return hopefully a successful life."

Not much is known about the forthcoming series, which is fronted by Caroline Flack, but bosses have decided to extend the running time by another week.
