Mark Wright is happy that fianceé Michelle Keegan is to leave her role on Coronation Street with a "bang".

The 26-year-old beauty's barmaid character Tina McIntyre will be killed off in 2014 and Mark, 26, believes her explosive exit storyline is the perfect way for her to be written out.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz at The Sun Military Awards in London on Wednesday (11.12.13), he said: "I think it's a great way for her to go out. She's going out with a bang. That's the way to do it instead of going off quietly.

"I'm pretty sure it's going to be a very dramatic storyline. She's spoken about all the time, so it's [probably] going to be watched by millions."

The former 'The Only Way is Essex' star admits he was initially uncomfortable watching his fiancée share steamy kisses with other men on screen but he has learned to accept that it is part of her role.

He added: "I think when I first saw it I was like, 'Woah', but after that it was fine. It's her job."

Mark also gushed about Michelle's five year stint on 'Coronation Street', revealing he is "proud" of the departing actress.

He said: "I think everything she does on that show is incredible. Every time I watch it, it makes me smile. I'm so proud of her."

The Sun Military Awards on Monday, December 16, at 9pm on ITV.
