Despite the criticisms that Marvel’s Iron Fist has been faced with in the past few weeks, whether it’s from professional critics or those who have slammed the leading character for being white, the show has still been an incredible success for the platform it streams from; Netflix.

With critically and commercially-acclaimed shows as part of the same universe that came before it in Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage, there was worry that this could be the first major flop for the Netflix and Marvel collaborators, but those worries have now proved to be unfounded.

According to a report from Inverse, viewership data trackers Parrot Analytics have been looking into the number of people that have given Iron Fist a chance, and according to their data which looks at streaming numbers and social media, the “demand expressions” have racked up 63,249,549; roughly six million below the stats Luke Cage picked up, but significantly more than both Daredevil and Jessica Jones.

As another great launch for the show, those behind it now must be feeling better than ever, as it has become the second biggest Netflix hit to-date.

Marvel’s Iron Fist season 1 is available now on Netflix alongside Daredevil seasons 1-2, Jessica Jones season 1 and Luke Cage season 1. The Defenders will premiere later this year, with dates still to be announced for new seasons of all of the shows, aside from Iron Fist and The Defenders.
