Mason Noise thinks people will start getting "bored" of 'The X Factor' if the format isn't updated every year.

The 24-year-old wannabe pop star - who fell out with Simon Cowell during the Six Chair Challenge - was kicked off the live shows of the singing competition in week four in 2015 and, although he hasn't watched the programme since he took part, he's glad they've decided to let acts sing their own songs now.

Speaking exclusively to BANG Showbiz, he said: "I haven't watched one bit of 'The X Factor', I know what they go through and I've been through it. It's not that they are painful memories, it's just that when you've been through it and got the T-shirt, personally it's not for me right now. But I wish the show all the best.

"I noticed that they're letting the artists sing their own song, I think they need to re-evaluate the show all the time and move forward and this move will let the show progress and really showcase new talent.

"That's the best thing for it, a lot of the time The X Factor focuses on joke artists and people that make you laugh and things like that, but it is a talent show. If they can make it about the talent then I'm for it.

"If it's going to survive, they have to do that 100 per cent, the cream will rise to the top and people will shine through. Eventually people will get bored of the same format so you have to switch up and make the show about what really matters which is the talent."

Although he didn't manage to win the show two years ago, Mason hasn't let it stop him from making music.

He explained: "My EP is coming out soon, which is going to be really good. It's going to be what people want. The UK industry needs some flavour right now, that's the reason why Bruno Mars brings out a track it's always a hit, we need that R&B sound from the 2000s, that's what I'm bringing back."
