The 'Emmerdale' actor and his co-star wife Charley Webb - who have kids Buster, seven, and two-year-old Bowie together - have admitted they are trying for a third child, and after their hat-trick he is keen to shoot for another addition to their growing brood.

He said: "I'd have a football team. It's not me who has to go through all the hard work though.

"We're definitely going to go for number three. We'd like the age gap to be a lot closer to our youngest.

"We've got five years between the two of them at the moment, so we'd like a bit of a smaller age gap.

"We'd quite like a girl, but we'll see. My family are all boys and we've got two boys so the odds are we'll probably have another."

The 37-year-old actor - who plays David Metcalfe in the soap - and the brunette beauty recently tied the knot in secret after pretending to their pals they were attending her 30th birthday party, and they found their nuptials "so easy to plan" because they hadn't told anyone.

He added: "It was so easy to plan because were weren't planning a wedding as such, we were planning a big party.

"It was very un-traditional. We had no speeches because the best men, the ushers and the bridesmaids didn't know they were going to be them on that day."

While the couple - who have been together for 11 years - tied the knot six weeks ago, they are yet to go on their stag and hen dos.

Speaking on 'Loose Women', Matthew added: "Charley goes on her hen do very soon, she doesn't know where she's going. My best men are planning mine so I don't know where I'm going yet."
