Based on the best-selling series of books by Lemony Snicket (aka Daniel Handler), A Series of Unfortunate Events brings Emmy and Tony Award winning actor Neil Patrick Harris back to the small screen in perhaps his most peculiar role yet, as the villainous Count Olaf.

A Series of Unfortunate Events tells the tragic story of the Baudelaire orphans; Violet, Klaus and Sunny. After losing their parents, the trio are told they'll be put into the care of their guardian Count Olaf, whose only plan of action is ensuring he gets his hands on the orphan's inheritance.

Forced to outsmart the man who's supposed to protect them whenever possible, Violet, Klaus and Sunny are put into many life-or-death situations, all whilst discovering clues and coming closer to finding out the truth about their parent's mysterious passing.

The eight-episode original series is exclusive to Netflix, executive produced by Emmy Award winner Barry Sonnenfeld and author Daniel Handler.

A Series of Unfortunate Events debuts all eight episodes on January 13, 2017.
