The 50-year-old star, who plays Kevin Webster on the popular ITV soap opera, turned to cocaine following accusations of child abuse, which he's subsequently been cleared of.

And the father-of-two, who was suspended from the show in the midst of the accusations, has revealed he's attended a convention thrown by help group Cocaine Anonymous at a Pontins camp in Prestatyn, North Wales.

In a tweet sent from his chalet at the holiday camp, he joked: "No words can describe it.

"My bed here at Pontins is like a concrete window sill. I've had about three minutes sleep."

Meanwhile, a 'Coronation Street' insider has revealed Michael has got his life back on track and is delighted to have returned to the programme.

The source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "Michael has been through hell since the child sex abuse allegations. He is totally clean and back on Corrie and doing great.

"He wanted to go to the group's convention to show his gratitude for the help they have given him and continue to give him."
