Michelle Keegan's 'Coronation Street' exit storyline has her feeling honoured.

The sexy star will be leaving her role as Tina McIntyre on the ITV soap next year and the producer-planned dramatic exit has her excited. Rumours say she'll be murdered.

The actress - who has played popular barmaid Tina since 2007 - confirmed the rumours on Jonathan Ross' ITV chat show last Saturday, but her comments were edited out by TV bosses.

According to The Sun newspaper, Michelle said: "They've come up with a really good storyline that involves a lot of characters on the street. It's going to be a big story next year so, in a way, it's an honour and I'm very excited for it.

"For me, it's scary and exciting at the same time. I've been in 'Corrie' for six years and it's my first-ever acting role. If I don't leave now and try other things, I never will."

When Jonathan suggested Tina might be murdered, Michelle replied: "Yes. I think the viewers might know."

The brunette's alter-ego will strike up an affair with recovering alcoholic Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) over the Christmas season, which doesn't go down well with his feisty partner Carla Connor (Alison King), and the romance is said to play a key part in her death.

A source previously explained: "Peter Barlow and Tina will be entwined right up until her exit and he will have a big part to play in the storyline."
