The 29-year-old actress believes her busy work schedule, which saw her film army drama 'Our Girl' in South Africa for eight weeks and then immediately shoot 'Tina and Bobby' in Manchester, has shattered her immune system.

Talking about her health during an appearance on BBC One's 'The One Show' on Monday (19.09.16) night, she explained: "I've been really run down. It happens when your body stops - because I literally did 'Our Girl' and then did 'Tina and Bobby' straight away and I only wrapped filming two weeks ago. Since then I've been doing so much promotion for 'Our Girl'. I only stopped about a week ago and since then I've been so ill."

However, it's hardly surprising the former 'Coronation Street' actress is battling with ill health at the moment as she recently admitted filming for 'Our Girl' in the blistering sun was damaging on her body and she was "exhausted."

She said of the experience: "It was emotionally draining and very tiring but I had the best time and I, obviously we were there for two months, thought I might get a bit homesick after a week but I'm not joking I loved every single second of it. It was a life experience for me."

And shooting the series has even cured Michelle's fear of heights because her alter ego Lance Corporal Georgie Lane was rescued by the Special Forces in a helicopter.

Speaking during a Facebook Live chat, she said recently: "We did (film) the helicopter (scenes) in the air, we were harnessed in and I'm actually quite scared of heights but I think after this I was fine with them. I wanted to go back up again."
