Mr Selfridge will return for a fourth series on ITV made up of ten episodes, after being recommissioned by the network.

With Emmy award-winning actor Jeremy Piven in the title role, the show has picked up a healthy legion of fans and viewers who keep ratings high.

Director of drama for ITV, Steve November said: "We're delighted to commission a fourth series of 'Mr Selfridge'. It's so pleasing to see the audience take the characters and storylines into their hearts. We're looking forward to seeing Jeremy reprise his role as the visionary yet deeply troubled Harry alongside simply stunning production values."

Former Coronation Street actress Katherine Kelly is also going to return as the alluring socialite Lady Mae Loxley, whilst regular cast members including Sacha Parkinson, Tom Goodman-Hill, Ron Cook, Amanda Abbington, Amy Beth Hayes, Trystan Gravelle and Samuel Rest will continue to feature.

The new series is also going to see the introduction of a major new character played by Line of Duty's Sacha Dhawan, with guest roles also lined up for newcomers Lottie Tolhurst and Mimi Ndiweni.

The fourth series of the drama is going to focus on Mr. Selfridge's dramatic fall as he loses hold of his empire and social status.

Executive producer for ITV Studios, Kate Lewis commented: "We're delighted to be embarking on production of the fourth series of 'Mr Selfridge' and thrilled to be welcoming back Katherine Kelly along with introducing some talented new faces. This series marks a dramatic turn in fortunes for Harry as he loses grip on his empire. It's a bit of a game changer for all the characters in the series."
