The 2015 'Great British Bake Off' winner joined the BBC show alongside host Zoe Ball and judges Rosemary Shrager and Giorgio Locatelli but she's decided to walk away from the programme after just one series in order to focus on her own venture.

Speaking to the Daily Mirror newspaper, the 33-year-old baker said: "I really enjoyed presenting, but I'm now focusing on getting back to my own love of cooking for my new series... I wish the team the very best."

The BBC have confirmed that the 'Big Family Cooking Showdown' will return for a second series this year but bosses may be forced to find a whole new team as it's unlikely that Zoe will be back as she has other work projects eating up her time and judges Rosemary and Giorgio may also decide to go their separate ways.

A source said previously: "Bosses like the format and have high hopes for recreating some of the magic of 'Bake Off', but something hasn't quite clicked. The feeling behind the scenes is that there's definitely something there. Nadiya and Zoe have proved a hit as hosts, but it might be the spark between the judges is lacking something."

Meanwhile, Nadiya is certainly no stranger to fronting her own show as after she won the baking series three years ago, she went on to judge on 'The Junior Bake Off'.

She also filmed 'The Chronicles of Nadiya' and 'Nadiya's British Food Adventure'.

Details about her new show are yet to be announced but it's believed it will be an eight-part series and will debut on the BBC later this year.
