Naomi Campbell has stated her new show 'The Face' is the most realistic modelling show on television.

Teaming up with Erin O'Connor and Caroline Winberg as mentors of the reality show, the supermodel is bringing the series to Sky Living, and will be hoping to rival rumoured arch-nemesis Tyra Banks' hit series - which is now in its 20th cycle Stateside - 'America's Next Top Model'.

The leggy beauty appeared to take a dig at Tyra's global franchise - which is currently in its 20th season - by claiming her new 'The Voice'-style show is a truly authentic portrayal of the modelling industry.

Speaking at the launch of 'The Face', Naomi explained: "I will call anyone that I've known in this business for the last 28 years because it has to be authentic to what we really do, it has to mirror real life situations and what's going on in the fashion industry right now and I don't want it to be anything less. I want to keep it a really high level so the [contestants] get ... the full package."

Meanwhile, Q&A host Nick Grimshaw alluded to the rivalry more explicitly, joking about the unrealistic nature of Tyra's

show, which sees wannabe models perform tasks like catwalking down the side of a building and posing with an array of dangerous beasts.

Nick joked: "When you watch other modelling shows - which will remain nameless - sometime you watch it and they're like, 'This week we're going to put a spider on your face!' Why would that happen? ['The Face'] feels very real."

To which Naomi smiled sweetly and quipped: "I've never watched any other modelling shows."

Erin admitted she was amazed 'The Face' has already received so much support from fashion industry experts.

She said: "I think it's just [original] to have real fashion bonafide contributors. We've been gagging for an authentic fashion show on telly for years and years and we've never been able to succumb to it because we didn't quite trust where people were coming from in terms of fashion.

"I think it's been really brilliant because we've had such overwhelming support from the industry and brands. People just wanted to come and contribute and make it happen and make it real."

Naomi and Erin were joined by their fellow mentor Caroline at the special screening of 'The Face' at the Royal Opera House in London yesterday (26.9.13).

'The Face' debuts on Monday (30.9.13) at 9pm on Sky Living HD.
