There’s no denying the incredible cultural impact HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones has had throughout its six seasons to-date. Based on George R R Martin’s novel series ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’, the show has shocked with its unpredictable twists and turns ever since it hit the small screen, with no signs of it slowing down.

Now though, the end is near as creators confirmed that 2018’s season 8 would be the series’ last. With 13 episodes to go however, plenty of action is still on the way for fans, but could it all have been spoilt for many of us?

Speaking to The Huffington Post, actor Nikolai Coster-Waldau who plays Jaime Lannister in the series admitted: “Every year there are huge spoilers online where people find out real stuff and they will post it, and you go, ‘Oh my God, they just spoiled the whole season online!’

“But then, because there’s 10,000 other spoilers out there, they’re not real. It just gets lost in the shuffle. It’s all out there by the way… if you can find it.”

Of course, the majority of Game of Thrones viewers would prefer to keep the events of upcoming episodes a secret until they’ve watched, so as to build the tension and suspense that the creators on the show have worked so hard to keep up since its debut.

There will always be those out there looking to spoil the fun however, so remember. The night is dark and full of spoilers.

Game of Thrones returns to HBO in the US on Sunday, July 16 and to Sky Atlantic in the UK on Monday, July 17.
