The 36-year-old actor - who is best known for his roles in 'Holby City', 'The C Word' and 'Law & Order: UK' is one of a number of stars who has signed up to appear in the fifth series of the BBC One drama.

He said: "I'm very excited to have the opportunity to work with the fantastic cast and crew on the upcoming series of 'Death in Paradise'. I play a fashion photographer in my episode which is very different from many of my previous roles so was a great challenge. Filming in Guadeloupe was incredible too. We had so much fun!"

Blonde bombshell Emma, who most recently starred alongside 'We're the Millers' and 'The Maze Runner' actor Will Poulter in 'Plastic', and 'Poldark' beauty Heida will also be making guest appearances as Kris Marshall returns as Detective Inspector Humphrey Goodman on the fictional Caribbean island of Saint Marie.

Other guest stars lined up for the fifth series include former 'Downton Abbey' actor Julien Ovenden, 'Game of Thrones' Charlotte Hope and 'Doctor Who's Madame Vastra actress Neve McIntosh.

Executive producer Tim Key said: "We are thrilled to be back in Guadeloupe for the fifth series of 'Death In Paradise' and delighted to have such great talent involved in the show. The new series promises more twists, romances and shocks for viewers with some of our most ambitious stories yet. From deep-sea divers who get in over their heads to political scandals with deadly consequences, there's something for everyone."

The new series will air in early 2016.
