Phillip Schofield has managed to complete his 24-hour television marathon for Text Santa.

His epic presenting stint came to a close on This Morning at 11am today, where he was joined by wife Steph, co-host Amanda Holden and Gok Wan as the final minutes came to a close.

He even got a surprise congratulatory call from his mother Pat live on air, who said to her son: "Hello darling, you didn't think you'd be getting away with me did you? It was absolutely fantastic! I watched 19 hours!"

Just before the clock turned 11am, Phil left the ITV studios hand-in-hand with his wife to huge cheers.

During the 24 hours, Phil has abseiled down the ITV Tower, interviewed Prime Minister David Cameron, appeared on Loose Women, presented the weather and read out the continuity on ITV.

Phillip thanked his fans for staying with him and for their donations as This Morning kicked off today.

"If you donated, if you supported, if you stayed up with me then I can't thank you enough, it's been amazing ... It's a lovely achievement and I just want to say right now, because I might got get the chance to say this later on in all the madness, but the team for ITV3 - for the entire ITV team - in here and in every studio and every area that we accessed and every place that we went to ... every camera shot, every sound, every cable, thank you very, very much."

The 'Text Santa' TV special will air at 8pm on December 19 and the six charities being supported by the appeal are the Teenage Cancer Trust, Guide Dogs, WellChild, Marie Curie Cancer Care, Alzheimer's Society and Together for Short Lives.
