The 'Never Gonna Give You Up' hitmaker has admitted he's been asked to take part in the popular Ballroom and Latin show, which will return to screens in September, in the past but he rejected the offer because he doesn't think he's "fit enough."

Speaking to the Mirror Online, the 52-year-old singer said: "I have been asked to go on it. But I wouldn't want to compete on it. I'm not fit enough. Greg Rutherford [who competed last year] said they practise every hour of the day. I couldn't do it."

Rick - who has been married to his wife Lene Bausager since 2003 - is also worried about the infamous "curse", which has seen numerous celebrities split up with their partners after growing close to the professionals, striking again and hitting him.

He explained: "I sang on it and they had a bit of a party after Blackpool, a bit of a shindig with everyone dancing. All the professional dancers are amazing and we're there doing dad dancing. One of the dancers said I had moves and should come on the show. But I don't think I could do it, if I'm honest. Not really. It takes a lot... and not to mention quite a few people have broken up over it."

Rick's not the only person to turn down the popular dance show as 'EastEnders' star Lacey Turner - who married her husband Matt Kay last year - has also snubbed it.

'Strictly Come Dancing' will return to screens in four months' time and it's believed Stormzy's girlfriend Maya Jama has been asked to join this year's line up.
