Riverdale continues to impress viewers both in the US and around the world with its unique style of storytelling, even drawing comparisons to Twin Peaks and Pretty Little Liars throughout its first season run to-date. Delving deep into a murder mystery and focusing on characters from the world of Archie Comics, a passionate fan base has been formed and talk has already turned towards a second season.

With three episodes still to go in its first season however, a wealth of answers are expected from viewers, and in a new chat with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa has promised a lot of scandal in the coming weeks.

He said: “There are still some huge ones, huge secrets to come in the last two or three [episodes]; kind of game-changing secrets, I would say. There’s more of that in the stretch from [episodes] 11-13. You just get deeper and deeper into the swamp of secrets.”

Obviously the biggest secret that will be coming out before season 1 wraps is exactly who put a bullet between Jason Blossom’s (Trevor Stines) eyes. There’s also been comments made that a huge twist in the show’s genre will take place in the set-up for season 2, with rumours Sabrina the Teenage Witch could be making her way to the series.

Exactly what goes on has now been laid in stone, but we’re going to have to wait another three weeks before everything has been said and done on the small screen!

Riverdale continues Thursdays in the US on The CW and Fridays in the UK on Netflix.
