There’s no denying the huge success of the Arrowverse on The CW. Arrow paved the way for spinoff series The Flash, which instantly became a huge success, and the network is now also home to superhero shows DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Supergirl, following the latter’s move from CBS.

Speaking about his future as hero Firestorm in the Flash television series at the Hockey Goes Hollywood event this weekend, Amell explained: “I was there last week. I can tell you that my scenes are with Grant [Gustin] and Danielle [Panabaker]. And I may or may not be alive.

“It’s always great to work with all of them. I rarely get to have scenes with Grant. The only time he and I had a scene that was just the two of us I was Stein at the time. I was pretending to be Victor Garber. So it was cool to have a real scene with Grant.”

Though Amell didn’t tease exactly how he’ll be making his return to the series, it’s good to know that he’ll be coming back in some form or another. Provided Firestorm is currently in the present rather the past or future, it’s going to be interesting to see how he interacts with Gustin’s Barry Allen and Panabaker’s Caitlin Snow.

Amell first hinted of his return early last year, but further details weren’t given throughout the rest of the year. The actor has instead been focusing on gaining funding for his upcoming project Code 8, which he co-created alongside cousin and lead star of Arrow, Stephen Amell.

He also appeared in the recent X-Files revival along with Netfix original movie ARQ, greeted with mostly positive reviews and reception for both.

The Flash continues on The CW in the US on Tuesday, January 31 with ‘Dead or Alive’.
