The 'Drag Race' star is reportedly at the top of producers' lists to step into a hosting slot when the show returns to TV later this year, following the departures of Kelly Osbourne and Kathy Griffin.

A source told HollywoodLife.com: "E! loves working with RuPaul on the show Good Work and would like to test Ru with others they are trying out for the show when it returns

"E! feels that Rupaul would be awesome and they are interested in making it work."

Current presenter Giuliana Rancic recently confirmed she will be returning to the show in September, despite her controversial comments about Disney star Zendaya Coleman, who she said looked like she smelled "like pachouli oil, or maybe weed" at the Oscars.

She said: "I think more than ever, ['Fashion Police'] is definitely coming back, because [the controversy] shows that a lot of people were watching the show and enjoyed the show. So yeah, it's coming back in September, in time for the Emmys. I will be on the show, Brad Goreski will be on the show, and now they just have to fill the other seats."

Other stars linked the joining the panel of the show include 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians' beauty Khloe Kardashian and former 'Real Housewives' star NeNe Leakes.
