Quirky comedian, Russell Kane, will host 'Live At The Electric', a comedy and entertainment show coming to BBC Three.

Unlike no other, the programme will be a mix of stand up, sketch comedy, and musical comedy, bringing together some hotly tipped talent.

Those involved in the pilot show included Him and Her's Joe Wilkinson, Nick Helm (2011 Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee), Lady Garden, an all-female sketch group, Roisin Conaty, winner of 2010 Fosters Edinburgh Comedy Best Newcomer Award, and Jigsaw, a sketch group.

The series of eight programmes is part of the current project to bring new shows to the schedule. Live At The Electric is a chance to showcase the best up and coming talent, as well as providing a unique insight into the often unseen variety and depth of the UK comedy scene.

Russell has had a variety of presenting roles, including Big Brother's spin off show, 'Big Brother's Big Mouth', and 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Now'. He has also featured on comedy show, Live At The Apollo, and 2012 will also see him embark on a UK tour showcasing his stand up routine. 'Manscaping' sold out at the Edinburgh Fringe, and several dates of the tour have already sold out.

Although transmission dates are yet to be confirmed, with producers who have previously worked on Live At The Apollo, Have I Got News For You, and Russell Howard's Good News, it is sure to be a success.
