The 'Big Brother's Bit on the Side' host - who shot to fame in 2012 when he tried his hand at singing on 'The X Factor' - has been given his biggest break to date as he rivals the likes of Alan Carr, Graham Norton and Jonathan Ross with his own evening talk programme on Channel 5.

The unnamed talk show - the first to air on the network since 1999 - will hit screens in May and will see Rylan interview a mixture of celebrities, according to the Guardian newspaper.

But, now that he's landed his own programme, it seems the 27-year-old presenter's chances of hosting 'The X Factor' when it returns to screens have gone out the window.

He said recently: "My ultimate dream would be to present 'The X Factor' - I only left three years ago and to go from contestant to presenting would be a tick in my box."

And it's not yet known if his newest gig will affect him fronting the 'Big Brother' spin-off but he'll no doubt be devastated if he's forced to leave the late-night show.
