In it we see Joel Fry as Toke, Rebekah Staton as Wendy, Jill Halfpenny as Belinda, Con O'Neill as Joe, Luke Bailey as Ash, Jennifer Nicholas as Ally, Matt Di Angelo as Fletch, Kimberley Nixon as Holly, Griff Rhys Jones as Patrick and Angela Griffin as Jenna.

This time round, the series will focus on the call centre and warehouse of a sports sales company in Wales, introducing viewers to a brand new roster of unique and compelling characters, with each episode delving into one of their stories.

Writer and executive producer Danny Brocklehurst comments: "I have loved creating a new web of intrigue, secrecy and mayhem for a range of new characters, which will be brought to life by a truly fantastic and talented cast.

"The new series promises more humour, heartache and shock revelations as very ordinary people find themselves in the most desperate of situations."

Through the new series' first episode, we'll see Head of Sales Joe Brierley (O'Neill) take some drastic steps in watching over his family when he becomes convinced his wife is cheating on him. Installing hidden cameras into the family home in an act of desperation, he could realise that ignorance truly was bliss.

Though he thinks he's been secretive, General Manager Jenna Moss (Griffin) notices something has changed with Joe, but continues to take everything in her stride. Despite a composed exterior which makes her lonely PA Holly Pryce (Nixon) more than a touch jealous, Jenna is hiding a dark past from her work colleagues.

Forklift driver Wendy Walker (Staton) is down in the warehouse and proves that there's nothing she won't do to protect those she loves. Meanwhile, Warehouse Manager Toke (Fry) has an alter-ego, putting his strength of character to the test.

Warehouse picker Fletch (Di Angelo) isn't immune from the drama either, when he finds his happy marriage threatened following the return of his estranged father.

Nicola Shindler, the show's executive producer says: "The audience response to the first series of Ordinary Lies was truly overwhelming so we're delighted to be introducing a brand new set of characters and deceptions for viewers to sink their teeth into for series two."

BBC executive producer Elizabeth Kilgarriff adds: "We are delighted to have another brilliant cast to star in a new series of Ordinary Lies. Danny's writing really strikes a chord with audiences and each character's story will make viewers question what they would do in each individual's situation."

Ordinary Lies received critical acclaim and an average consolidated audience of over six million during its first series.

It returns to BBC One this Autumn.
