The barber opted to couple up with Tyla Carr - who he had entered the villa with a few days previous - leaving Montana to rekindle her romance with Dom Lever.

Explaining why he picked Tyla, he said: "I want to couple up with this girl because she's funny, she's bubbly and easy to get along with. She's stunning. At the end of the day, this is Love Island and I think it's only fair to couple up with somebody who you feel like you can have a romance or a relationship with. So the girl I'm coupling up with is Tyla."

And Dom was full of praise for Montana after they were forced back together.

He said: "I wanna couple up with this girl because not only did she step forward to me on day one, but I truly believe she's been one of the most unlucky girls in here. She's lovely."

But it was Jonny Mitchell who provided the biggest shock of the night, deciding to remain in a couple with Camilla Thurlow, despite having expressed his feelings for Tyla only minutes before.

When choosing the bomb disposal expert, Jonny said: "I'm still getting to know her and I'm interested to see where things go. We've had a few ups and downs but we've rekindled things recently, so the girl I want to couple up with is Camilla."

The sweetest coupling up though had to go to Marcel Somerville, who asked Gabby Allen to be his girlfriend.

In front of the group, he said: "I want to couple up with this girl because looking back on my time on the show, my journey didn't really start until she walked into the villa. From that day, I feel we've grown a lot together and there's not any other girl I want to continue my journey with. I would kind of like her to be my girlfriend. So the girl I'd like to couple with up is Gabby."

And speaking in the Beach Hut afterwards, Gabby admitted: "I just did not expect it. I'm lost for words."
