Stephanie Waring thinks Lemar should have been axed from 'Dancing on Ice' because he tripped in the skate-off.

The 'Hollyoaks' actress was given the boot from the competition last night (21.01.18) after she failed to impress head judge Jayne Torvill with her performance when she went head-to-head with the 'If There's Any Justice' hitmaker in the skate-off.

But she has admitted she was very "confused" by the verdict because the 39-year-old singer - who is skating on his own and attempting one-legged spins and jumps - had a little stumble during his dance whereas she believed she had improved.

Speaking on 'Lorraine' today (22.01.18), she said: "The way I always thought 'Dancing on Ice' was was that the skate-off is just based on that skate and everyone has the chance to improve. You go on to improve.

"I wanted the opportunity to improve on my last skate and grow in the competition just as Lemar, as he does as well. So I was like, we can't make a mistake, it all rests on this one skate. So I was very confused as to [the fact that] there was a trip and yet I'm the one to go home. It is a lot of hard work just down the toilet, really."

And she has admitted she's not the only one who was puzzled by the results.

She added: "I've had an incredible reaction from the fans and on Twitter. There has been a bit of outrage as well."

Despite thinking he should have gone home, the 39-year-old actress - who was partnered with Sylvain Longchambon for the competition - found it hard dancing against Lemar because she had developed a strong friendship with him.

She explained: "I love Lemar, I really do he's one of my closest friends on 'Dancing on Ice'. So to be in the skate-off with him was actually quite difficult. To be in the skate-off with him, I didn't want to be in that situation."
