With Suits' fifth season debuting just last week, USA have granted the series an early renewal and commissioned a sixth series made up of 16 episodes, beginning to broadcast in the summer of 2016.

A cable show's average life is around five to seven years, many are speculating that the coming season or the one after it will be the show's last.

Despite that the show still brings in some brilliant ratings and cash for both the studio and network it's affiliated with, taking in an "upscale" audience alongside series' such as Mad Men and Orphan Black.

Creator Aaron Korsh will be the one to decide the show's final days, and with him gearing up to pilot as an executive producer in a new potential USA drama, there's a lot to keep him busy.

Suits airs in the US on Wednesdays at 9/8c on USA.
