When The Muppets makes its television return it's going to be like something the gang have never done before. Entertainment Weekly are reporting that the television show coming to ABC is to be shot mockumentary style and is to focus on the "more adult" aspects of the day-to-day goings on surrounding and involving the muppet characters.

From ABC, the official synopsis for the show reads: "The Muppets return to prime time with a contemporary, documentary-style show that-for the first time ever-will explore the Muppets' personal lives and relationships, both at home and at work, as well as romances, break-ups, achievements, disappointments, wants and desires; a more adult Muppet show, for kids of all ages."

Though only in the pilot stage for the moment, there are talks of a direct-to-series order which means there's a strong likelihood of the show making it to air, if true. With a goal to lightly mock the soap opera approach of ABC mainstays such as Revenge and Grey's Anatomy, it'd be interesting to see just how far they can push the boundaries with this one.

Meanwhile, a real-life Kermit the Frog look-alike was found this month in Costa Rica, identified in the rainforests and scientifically named Hyalinobatrachium dianae. It joins 13 other glass frogs and, like them has a translucent body through which you can see its organs. Despite the bright green skin and bulging white eyes of the frog, it has until this point evaded biologists.
