As one of the world’s most popular shows, The Walking Dead always has a huge responsibility to get things right and impress. Though that’s not what it’s done for ALL viewers as of late, things seem to be picking up once more, as fans become happier with what’s being put on screen.

Andrew Lincoln leads the show as Rick Grimes, a cop who awoke from a coma to find a world in disarray. Now he’s leading a group of survivors in a zombie-infested world, but at some point the series is going to come to a close.

Speaking to a fan who asked Lincoln what he’d like his final scene to consist of, the actor said: “I’m gonna say this now, this is how I want Rick to die.

“So, we’re going through a desert somewhere and I jump off the bus. In a very heroic act, Rick jumps off, ‘Caaaarl’s still alive!’ Maybe it’s the last thing I say. I jump off and I’m like kung-fu kicking, earn my action figure, half way through I get bit… Ow! Doesn’t matter, keep going! Anyway, I deal with that and I’m dying on my own. Just waiting to die. I wait and I patch up and a day passes. I patch myself up, I don’t die… The final shot is, ‘Holy s**t! Maybe I’m the cure!’

“High shot, the whole thing… High shot, herd of zombies coming: Rick gets up, follows the tracks to go see ‘Caaaarl’, walking, the herd comes towards him, and they separate. He walks through. Boom!”

We have to say, it’s not the worst idea in the world. In fact, finding out that a zombie-bitten Rick would go on to become some God-like figure to the rest of the undead that are roaming the planet would be jaw-dropping stuff. A little unrealistic, but still fantastic.

The Walking Dead continues Sundays in the US on AMC and Mondays in the UK on FOX.
