Following the story of Jonathan Pine, a British soldier who goes on to become a luxurious hotel's auditor, he soon comes into contact with a French-Arab woman named Sophie who has links to Richard Onslow Roper - a man who made his fortune from weapons deals.

When Sophie is then killed Pine decides to go undercover and unearth what is behind her death with the help of intelligence operatives.

This marks the return of Hiddleston and Laurie for the network - Hiddleston's last regular role was in 2012 BBC Two show The Hollow Crown, and Laurie left House in the same year.

Hiddleston has also been handed a starring role in new King Kong movie Skull Island, the follow-up to 2005's Peter Jackson-directed King Kong remake.
