Playing flamboyant beautician Kenneth Du Beke in the show, he's confessed that since he stopped smoking he has put on weight, but the costume department haven't bought hot pants and vests in larger sizes.

Asked how he reacts when he sees the costumes laid out for him on set, he replied on This Morning: "With dread, yeah, with dread. The first thing I do is worry if it's going to fit me. I stopped smoking two years ago and I've put on three stone but they haven't changed the hot pants!"

However, the actor is now hoping to slim down in a bid to lose weight and is watching what he eats, having lost "sixteen pounds" already.

Meanwhile, Tony admits that the popular show has more actors and actresses than ever wanting to appear.

"Everyone wants a cameo. I think Derren [Litten], the writer, has a little black book and whenever he wants to inject a bit of nostalgia he refers to the little book and brings all his favourites in."

And on working with Dame Joan Collins along with other big names, Tony said of his excitement: "Joan, obviously, my personal favourite was Amanda Barrie. I was so chuffed to do scenes with Amanda. I was like, it's 'Carry On Cleo'!"
