John and Anthony's customary teasing became more serious this afternoon, as the two housemates began to argue. The initial flare-up started when Anthony asked John if he would get a Big Brother tattoo if it meant he would become the king of England.John rejected the idea, but a persistent Anthony continued: "You're not very patriotic. I'd say yeah. I wouldn’t do it for power, I'd do it to make a difference." The politician rebuked the idea that only the wealthy can affect change, arguing: "You don’t have to be a king to make a difference."The boxer couldn't understand this reasoning, asking: "You telling me that Joe Bloggs on the street can make as much difference as a king?...You [John] always argue about things that you know you can't argue about."The hostility lingered and soon the housemates found another subject to divide them - yesterday's 'Brain of Big Brother' challenge. Still pleased with his victory in the task, Anthony was showing off his trophy but the polotician scoffed at the questions asked by the celebrity hijackers to determine the winner, mocking sarcastically: "I can't wait to learn more about Scrubs and then I'm more intelligent." Refusing to apologise for his triumph, Anthony replied: "Bitterness, that’s what it is. Do you [John] have a trophy from the BB experience? I have I dunno if you have... I'm just glad I won that, as it shows my people that we're not just thick people, we also have brains and John's just jealous."Having been kept out of the living area by Big Brother, the housemates were amazed to re-enter the space and find it transformed into a comedy club. The house had been re-styled with a stage, brick background wall and a microphone and stand and as a clue to the identity of today's celebrity hijacker there were pictures of US comedienne Roseanne Barr on the walls.Although worried at having to demonstrate their stand-up skills, the housemates were thrilled at the thought of Roseanne being their new hijacker. "They couldn't have gotten her." squealed an excited Emilia. "She is phenomenal," raved Amy to the agreement of Emilia.

Their anticipations were confirmed when American comedienne Roseanne Barr’s voice boomed over the loadspeaker and immediately set a stand-up comedy task.

The brash TV star asked the housemates to get into pairs and each prepare a stand-up comedy show for her in two hours' time. Roseanne told them that the funniest couple would be the winners, but warned them: "I'll heckle you if you suck."

After a short while the housemates revealed their selected pairings: John and Nathan, Latoya and Anthony, Emilia and Amy and Jay and Calista and the partners spent the rest of the afternoon desperately trying to be funny for their challenge. Jeremy was the chosen compere for the show.

After their allotted reharsal time, Rosanne summoned the group to assemble before the stage as the comedienne told compere Jeremy to start the show. The racing car driver gave a brief introduction before calling "Big John from Edinburgh" onto the makeshift stage.

The Scotsman launched the routine he had prepared with Nathan, joking: "My name's John so you can call me John." They earned a few laughs during their stint, before Anthony unveiled his and Latoya's comic efforts. The boxer leapt energetically about the stage and was barbed in his observations, telling Amy that she must "put out" to have had so many romantic relationships.

Jay was the final act to perform and the fashion designer soon assumed a very camp and theatrical persona. "I'm Jay and I'm gay," he cackled. "I'm here to tell you a story about Britain's most exceptional people. I walked through that door and I saw hope, ambition and drive," he announced excitedly, before becoming utterly depressed adding: "And then came the talent show."

Jay earned a number of appreciative laughs from the hijacker before Jeremy closed the show, saying: "I think we've had a good 12 minutes of comedy, thank you for joining us and goodbye."

As a treat for impressing big brother with their stand-up comedy routines, the housemates were rewarded with TV programmes, a film and cinema snacks.

Jeremy broke the news to the housemates as he was going to the storeroom to collect popcorn. "We're watching an episode of Skins followed by Brassed Off."

However, as they were watching the film, Dermot O’Leary suddenly made a startling cameo role as he flashed up on the screen and informed that house that Latoya had become the fourth housemate to be evicted with 56% of the public vote.

Jay and Calista made it their mission to help her with her clothes and make-up, while the others walked about in disbelief. John sat with his head in his hands, and Amy and Jeremy sat in stunned silence.

Hugs were given all round as each of them took it in turns to complain about how unfair it was that she had no time to prepare herself properly. Latoya shed several tears, saying: "This is such a piss take... Big Brother aren't my friend right now, I'm gonna cuss them so hard when I get out."

As Dermot summoned her to leave, the others gave her words of encouragement, waving to her as she climbed the steps to the outside world. As the door shut behind her, the house fell into silence. The next few minutes were spent with Jay crying, Nathan pacing the room and the others comforting each other with cuddles.

Following this bombshell, the housemates decided they will never know what to expect from Big Brother, and oh how right they were as half an hour or so later Big Brother announced that they would be nominating again later that evening.

In a nasty twist, Big Borther told the housemates to nominate and then read out their choices to the rest of the group as they sat around the dining table.

They had two minutes to write two names on the card and then return to the table. Then, one by one, each housemate stood up and read out the names they had chosen.Anthony was first and ran through all the reasons he didn't nominate people before naming Jeremy and Jay.

Amy chose Nathan and Calista while Calista opted for Jeremy and Amy. Emilia then chose Nathan and Anthony, Jay read out Emilia and Jeremy and Jeremy picked Calista and Jay. John then reluctantly said Jeremy and Nathan, while Nathan chose Amy and Emilia.

Jeremy and Nathan had four votes each and automatically faced the public vote. However, the confused housemates reckoned that everyone else had received two votes each. There was only Anthony who had received one vote and John had immunity from all nominations. As a result, Amy, Calista, Emilia, Jay, Jeremy and Nathan will all face the possibility of eviction on Friday.
