I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Sam Reveals How It All Started
Sam told George how she first got into to topless modelling at sixteen.
After entering a competition in a paper, Sam revealed that she attended to the shoot with her mum. The photographer was John Kelly, who was married to Vivenne Neves, the first model to appear naked in an advertisement in The Times in 1971.
After having her pictures taken, she said that John Kelly asked her to stay behind and commented that she, "reminded him of his wife."
Revealing that he would like to take topless shots of her, she said that the photographer then said to her mum: "I believe she could be a huge star, she's got he personality, she's got the figure and I think she'll go far." She added: "All I saw was stars. I was so excited and I wanted to do it."
George asked if she had to check with her dad and Sam explained that she called her dad and said: "He is a top photographer and thinks I'm going to be a big star. He thinks I'm going to have a great future and I'm going to get a lot of work and at the time I was studying to be a graphic designer but it wasn't what I wanted."
Sam V Katie
The camp mates were soaking up the sun and George asked Sam about Katie and their roles as glamour models, Sam explained: "I was an eighties glamour girl and then suddenly in the nineties there was other papers that did topless. There was a lot more magazines coming out. All you had in the eighties was The Sun or you had to go and do Penthouse, there was nothing in between. But now you've got Loaded, Nuts you've got a lot of boys magazines. They're not porn they are glamour mags for young teenagers."
She continued: "There's a lot more opportunities for glamour girls now than there were then. And Katie came along and she was photographed by a famous photographer called Jeany Savage who gave her pictures to the Daily Star it was a new paper trying to outdo The Sun. It wasn't called page three it was called page seven. The Sun had just always been around and it's always been famous, page three is page three."
George added: "I remember that when I was in England. I know exactly what you're talking about."
Commenting on Katie's position in the paper she said: "So basically Jordan made page seven very famous in the nineties."
Sam's True Love
George and Sam continued their heart to heart during the day. The Hollywood veteran asked Sam about her relationships and she revealed: "Its funny I've had some great love affairs with men in my life and they've been well documented in the newspapers over time. I don't know whether I was sure I was gay or not really when I was young. I used to have these feelings. I hate labels I used to see somebody and if I was attracted to them I used to like them. I'm with a woman now and I've been with her for eleven years which was really hard for me to come out, it was so hard I thought I was going to lose all my fans, all my boy fans but if anything they've all grown up and married now and support me."
Asked if she was happy, Sam admitted that she and girlfriend Myra had recently got engaged she said: "We're engaged , we got engaged this year in Thailand. The first year we met we both got tattoos on our fingers, we knew, I knew she was going to be my soulmate for the rest of my life."
She continued: "With the guys I've been with, honestly I've had some fantastic affairs I've been out with Paul Stanley from Kiss, I went out with him for quite a while. When I lived in Spain I went out with a really famous Spanish matador. I've met some great guys I've had some great love affairs but I knew during the relationship that I didn't want to spend the rest of my life with that person."
George then enquired if she can be herself around partner Myra and Sam answered: "[I] trust her with my life. I've told her everything there is no skeletons in my cupboard where Myra's concerned."
She continued: "We're both quite feminine. Well, I have got that tom boy way about me. Myra makes me feel safe, she's motherly which I love. We're totally monogamous. I used to have a roving eye before Myra because I obviously hadn't met my true love, my princess as we say. I look at women we both do, if we see a Sharon Stone movie we go ‘whoa.'
"But we could look at Brad Pitt in a movie and both go ‘whoa.'"
