I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here - George’s Hollywood Stories

I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here - Over the past week or so, Hollywood legend has impressed his fellow campmates with tales of his famous friends.  He said: "Elizabeth Taylor, we went out together, we worked together.  Elizabeth is an extraordinary human being and she’s an amazing friend."

Kim asked what Burt Lancaster was like.  "I liked him." said George.  "[Lana Turner] was a very unique woman.  She was something."

Kim said: "There’s not a person that you think of or a Hollywood great that he doesn’t know."

And George said: "Niven said one of the best things about Errol Flynn ever.  He said you can always count on Errol Flynn to let you down."

And he continued: "I used to pick up a script and if it was heavy I’d hand it to George Peppard and say this is a good one for you.  It’s got a lot of lines in it.

"Across the way I’d see Fred Astaire, Gary Cooper and Clarke Gable, all these incredible people in one day and I thought to myself and then they’re all gone two years later."

Jimmy asked George about Marilyn Monroe. He said:  "You went on a date with her didn’t you George?"

George said: "Yeah, she was forever getting ready.  She’d come out and she’d say does my hair look . . . and she’d go back fiddle with the hair some more."

On Marlene Dietrich George said: "Let me tell you a story about her.  Burt Bacherach who conducted for her, Burt was an old friend of mine. I went to see the show that night and she got a standing ovation."

And on Al Pacino he said: "Al Pacino says he want to take his dog for dinner.  He got there and the dog had a place setting."

On Frank Sinatra he said: "Sinatra used to do that.  He had a deal with the casino.  He’d make these big bets but he wasn’t paying with his money.  Dean and Sammy play, Sam looked at it and said it’s not a good hand and Dean said give it back."

He told Sabrina that he was a friend of Puff Daddy. He added: "Puffy’s a very good friend of mine.  Puffy’s a really good friend.  I like him a lot.  Do you want me to speak to him.  Would you like that?"

Sabrina said: "George hangs with the old and the new.  He’s got swagger."

George later said: "I love Anthony Hopkins. I had breakfast with him about a month ago.  I said what will you have Tony. He said I’ll have that lumpy oatmeal.  I said Jesus, you’ve turned into Hannibal Lecter."

Sam and he talked about Sharon Stone.  "I used to go out with her," said George.  "Oh don’t say that," said Sam, a fan of the actress.

And he said: "My first movie with Robert Mitchum.  You know they say I don’t know any lines.  He says, it’s not true.  I’m just too drunk to say ‘em."

"That guy is a legend," said Gino.
