Louis Walsh is likely to miss Saturday's (17.10.09) 'X Factor', as it is the same day as Stephen Gately's funeral.
The reality show judge - who was the manager of Stephen's group Boyzone - is expected to take time off to grieve the sudden loss of the singer last Saturday (10.10.09).
Louis said he is "completely broken" at the loss of his "best friend", and while he wants to appear on the show for the sake of his acts - John and Edward and Miss Frank - he thinks Stephen's death will properly sink in at the funeral.
He told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "It's going to really hit me at the funeral. What am I going to do?

"Will I be able to do 'X Factor'? I don't want to let down my acts."
Louis missed last Sunday's (11.10.09) show after learning the news of Stephen's death from natural causes after a fluid build up on his lungs. He was at his holiday home in Majorca with his civil partner Andrew Cowles, at the time.
Stephen's body is to be brought back to Dublin, Ireland, on Friday (16.10.09) and a funeral will take place the following day.
Louis also said the first person he'd turn to for help is fellow 'X Factor' judge Simon Cowell.
He said: "If I had a problem he'd be the first person I'd call. We fight on stage but at times like this he has a good heart."
Louis also revealed he'd urged Stephen to appear on reality TV show 'Celebrity Big Brother'.
He added: "I wanted him to do 'Celebrity Big Brother'. He said he'd think about it but he didn't want to do it.
"He wanted to be in the musical 'Jersey Boys'. He told me, 'That's all I want.' "
