Craig Revel Horwood's "dream" is for Duchess Camilla to be a 'Strictly Come Dancing' judge.

The 67-year-old royal is a big fan of the show so the outspoken choreographer thinks his friend would be the ideal replacement for Len Goodman when he departs his head judging role at the end of the next series.

Craig said: "When it comes to my dream new judge, well it's got to be my friend the Duchess of Cornwall.

"I've been desperate to get a royal on the show and Camilla could be just wonderful. And I'd love to have another lady on the panel too.

"Would she do it? Watch this space."

If Camilla doesn't want the role, Craig thinks Anton du Beke is the perfect replacement for Len.

He told Woman magazine: "Anton has been auditioning for years! I think he wants to take over as host, but that never really worked out.

"Actually, we tried him out on the judging panel on the tour and he was really good because he can talk from the experience of having to dance with someone like Ann Widdecombe.

"Plus he knows ballroom and Latin back to front, so he's definitely a contender."

While former judge Arlene Phillips has been linked with a return to the show, Craig would prefer to see someone with a different background to the theatre choreographer on the panel.

He said: "I wouldn't mind seeing Arlene back on the panel. She's got the benefit of years and years of experience and the gift of the gab, but I think it would make sense to have someone from the ballroom and Latin world instead."

Craig thinks Karen Hardy, 46, is a "good contender" for the panel, but is worried she doesn't have enough "authority" about her.

He said: "Karen is very mouthy and opinionated - which we like. She does very well on 'It Takes Two' and is never lost for words, so she's a good contender.

"But I think it should be someone a little bit older so they have the voice of authority."
