The British boxing legend, 49, has reportedly been offered a staggering £200,000 by producers to pack up his rucksack, pull on his jungle gear and head Down Under to take part in the forthcoming series of the popular reality TV show.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "We have been struggling to attract big names in the older celebrity world, so we are delighted to have secured Chris.

"Chris is not a man known to mince his words, and he often comes out with bizarre rants, making him an ideal candidate for 'I'm A Celebrity.'

"He's still in fantastic condition, so watching him take on the Bushtucker Trials will be quite something.

"His eccentricity will be something to behold - especially when he is hungry and deprived of sleep as campmates always are in the jungle. We think he is perfect for stirring the pot and are sure he will make sparks fly."

The athlete is set to join former 'Geordie Shore' star Vicky Pattison, rapper 50 Cent, 'Weakest Link' host Anne Robinson and James Arthur in the jungle as they all come face-to-face with creepy crawlies, tuck into rice and beans and meet some of the world's most dangerous animals.

'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!', which is fronted by comedy duo Ant and Dec, will hit screens on November 15.
