Legendary journalist Michael Buerk will be joined by Jimmy Bullard and Craig Charles in the jungle, as well as Nadia Forde, Kendra Wilkinson, Carl Fogarty, Gemma Collins, Vicki Michelle, Tinchy Stryder and Melanie Sykes.

The news comes after weeks of speculation and though some of the biggest and heaviest rumours haven't seemed to surface as contestants this year, it doesn't mean we won't see some of them at a later date, as ITV usually send a couple more campmates into the series when it's underway.

Allergic to cats, he's happy he won't see any of them in the jungle and insists that his role in the camp will be to get on with people "in a helpful way".

"I do think it will be good fun. I am proud of what I have done. I like to think of myself as a serious journalist and for that, you did have to suppress your personality - and rightly so! Maybe doing this is some kind of midlife crisis!"

Jimmy Bullard - 36 - Engaged

Following his retirement from football, Jimmy Bullard has been searching for a challenge and thinks that I'm A Celebrity could fill that gap.

"People call me the joker but that is just how I am. I like to play up in front of people. I like to entertain and I always seem to find time for a prank! I am not going to sit there and mope around. That is not me."

Craig Charles - 50 - Married

He says he has no phobias but "doesn't like the look" of the eating trial, seeing himself as a raconteur and father figure when he gets into camp.

"I am curious. It's going to be a challenge and I think it will be a great adventure. I am never going to get a chance to do something like this again. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity."

Gemma Collins - 33 - Single

Claustrophobic and afraid of "every single creepy crawly", it's looking likely that Gemma is going to be one of the stars put in for most of the Bushtucker Trials this year.

"I thought they would give you a can of diet coke or a mini mars bar to keep the sugar up but they don't. I do like a drink too and so this is going to be a very different experience for me."

Carl Fogarty MBE - 49 - Married

As one of the World's legendary motorbrke drivers, he does think going into the jungle is going to be one of the scariest experiences of his life.

"I am not someone who can afford to lose a lot of weight and it will be interesting to see how much I do lose but I know I will put it back on afterwards."

Nadia Forde - 25 - Single

She's going to miss being able to pick up the phone and speak to family and friends whenever she likes, and is afraid of "creepy crawlies, heights, the dark" to name just three.

"I just want to have lots of fun when I am out there. Doing this programme has been on the cards for some time and now all of a sudden it's actually happening."

Vicki Michelle MBE - 63 - Married

Afraid of snakes and spiders but assuring the audience she's going to be brave, she says that whilst she'll be motherly in camp she'll also be a child.

"All my friends like Biggins and Lorraine Chase have told me how amazing and how life changing it was for them and so I wanted to do it when I was asked."

Tinchy Stryder - 28 - Dating

Not wanting to jinx himself he won't let anyone in on his phobias, and decided to join the show so that his status as a rapper doesn't box him in.

"I have never had a day when I haven't listened to it [music]. I can't imagine going a day without any and it will be challenging for me."

Melanie Sykes - 44 - Single

Claustrophobic with a fear of heights, Mel admits she's going to find it tough leaving her children behind to spend a few weeks in the jungle.

"It's a big challenge. I have had a few of those recently with charity things I have done and I thought 'sod it' this year! I feel tough and I don't want to do it when I am too old! It is going to be an experience and I want to have fun."

Kendra Wilkinson - 29 - Married

Describing herself as a 'party girl', she'd love a "hot looking guy" as her dream camper but will struggle whilst in the competition, as she leaves two children on the outside.

"I do think I am brave to have even signed my name on the papers (of the show)! It's going to be a case of mind over matter."

I'm A Celebrity kicks off on ITV this Sunday, at 9pm.
