The BBC Proms host, 45 was placed last on Saturday's (12.12.15) show but impressed the judges in the dance-off and has been given a shot at the Strictly title, over her pal and Countryfile star Anita who was booted out.

Speaking about the Judges decision, Katie shared: "We both danced our socks off but she had better socks than me that night.

"If Anita was here she'd be laughing alongside me. She and I have had the best time. We were in the dance-off and one of us had to go.

"She said to me, 'Mate, it's a format, it's fine.' That's the way it is.

"She's got loyal fans. I'm one. They're upset she didn't get through. But that's the show. And there was nothing either of us could do."

The presenter and Anton Du Bec, 49 were awarded a lowly 24 for their Charleston and a 31 for their second dance.

And despite Kate's lack of confidence that she'll bag the Strictly title, she is determined to keep positive and enjoy the final.

She told The Sun newspaper: "It's a shame people want to pick on any negative connotations.

"But I wouldn't let anything, and neither would she, spoil the time we've had on the show.

"A friend made me a necklace with a glitterball on. She said, 'In case you don't win.' I think she knows I won't."
