Len Goodman is cutting his appearances on US talent show 'Dancing with the Stars'.

The 70-year-old star judges both the American ballroom contest and the hit Saturday night BBC show 'Strictly Come Dancing' but he is going to reduce his Stateside workload because the travelling between the UK and US is wearing him out.

'DWTS' dancer Cheryl Burke - who is friends with Len - revealed: "I know that he is probably going to be missing a few shows next season because of the travelling back and forth."

Cheeky Cheryl claims she understands why Len would want to travel less - it's because he's so old.

Speaking to the Confideni@l column in the New York Daily News newspaper, she joked: "I get it. Especially when you are 120 years old, it just sucks."

Len has been a judge on 'DWTS' since it started in 2005 and has been scoring the celebrities on 'Strictly...' since it began on BBC One in 2004.

Meanwhile, the ballroom expert is to star in an upcoming series about the history of dance for BBC Four.

The programme will see Len don period dress as he talks viewers through dance through the centuries and it will air this autumn.
