Lord Alan Sugar doesn't know what the future holds for The Apprentice.

The businessman admits he has reservations that the programme and his role have longevity.

Speaking to The Guardian he explained: "It depends on me, until I conk out I suppose.

"Perhaps I will carry on until I am at least 70, let's say. Who knows?"

With the 10th series kicking off this week, Alan insists his time on the show is limited, despite an 11th series already in pre-production.

"I don't know, you are asking me a question. How old was Brucie [Bruce Forsyth] when he threw in the towel? 86? Oh blimey."

He instead insisted the BBC would decide on the show's fate, as they did with Young Apprentice, axed last year.
