The former JLS singer - who has presented the BBC One show for the past three years - has admitted there is gentle tension between himself and his spouse, who hosts the ITV singing show's spin-off 'The Xtra Factor', when the two programmes go head-to-head in the famous ratings war.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz, he said: "There's always friendly rivalry between me and my wife."

However, the handsome star - who shot into the limelight after competing on 'The X Factor' in 2008 - has admitted he is a huge fan of his rival show and will always support it.

He explained: "In all seriousness, I'm from 'The X Factor', I'm a fan of the show, I watch it all the time. It's given my wife a job. But of course, 'The Voice' is my home now and I'm very proud of the show, very proud to be a part of it."

Meanwhile, 'The Voice' is set to return to television screens on January 9 for its last ever series on BBC One after ITV poached it for 2017 in a deal worth an estimated £33 million.

And, although Marvin is keen to continue hosting the popular programme after its shift, the star understands if show bosses decide to let go of him and his co-host Emma Willis.

He added: "I'd love to stay on the show but of course change is inevitable. This show has changed every series, be it

presenters, coaches, if we were not to come back for series six on ITV then we've had a great three years and I've loved it. And I get it that change has to happen."
