The longstanding coach on the talent show announced he won't be staying on for a sixth season after the BBC recently sold the rights to its competitor and insists the winning format will be "hard" to top when it makes its shift next year.

Speaking to BANG Showbiz, he said: "I think it (this season) is a massive blow out in a good way especially for the BBC because they've honestly made a series that it is going to be hard for whoever takes on the mantle to top, because it's so good. I think we've made an un-remake-able programme."

Meanwhile, Ricky and will.i.am are joined on the panel by Culture Club's Boy George and Brit Award winner Paloma Faith - who replaced sacked Tom Jones and Rita Ora - and the Kaiser Chiefs frontman says the new judges are definitely "louder" but it's the best it's ever been.

He explained: "Everything's changed. I love them both. Well, it's a lot louder. You might have noticed I'm watching a lot more. I'm really enjoying this. The first year I was absolutely terrified. Second year I was obsessed by winning it. And then, the third year, now people were like, 'Why are you doing again?' and I've got to admit, it's because I love it."

'The Voice' returns to screens across the nation on Saturday (09.01.12) on BBC One.
